June Monthly Letter: A Message From The USA-SR Responsible Couple

Written by Greg and Melanie Gehrt | Jun 1, 2025 6:43:04 PM

Summer is here!

As schools dismiss and the temperatures rise, this signals the start of summer break.  Does your base team take a summer break from meeting?  If so, enjoy your break!  Our own base team (as well as some other teams around the country) meet every month and don’t break for the summer.  Both formats are acceptable.  The Movement asks each team to meet at least 10 times a year.

Annual Evaluation

The Movement also asks each team to complete an annual evaluation and for each couple to discern their recommitment for another year.  The annual evaluation is vital to the stability, health, and growth of your base team.  You are asked to not just individually complete the annual evaluation but to discuss and discern with your spouse and your entire team.  Enter into prayer and have a heartfelt discussion each year with your fellow team members.

We remember back when our kids were young and we hired a babysitter so we could attend our monthly meetings.  We needed to be home by a specific time to relieve the sitter.  Our Team struggled with too much talking and socializing leading to long meetings.  We remember during an annual evaluation having to ask for a greater respect of the time we need to get home to relieve the sitter.  Now, our kids are grown and we are no longer the youngest couple on our Team.  Our youngest couple does have young children and recently asked the team in our annual evaluation to be mindful of when they need to be home to relieve their sitter.  This communication helps everyone be aware of areas of strength and areas of improvement as a team.

Maybe your team struggles with cross talk at the dinner table, or struggles with everyone not being committed to the meeting times that have been set, or perhaps your team has not made the Annual Retreat a priority.  All of these can be addressed in the confines of the Annual Evaluation.  So, we encourage you to not sell your team short and push into growth, even if it may be uncomfortable. Celebrate your successes and identify those areas of improvement. Work together as a team on a few areas to grow and become more disciplined.  Then, go enjoy your summer break!

New Website Is Here

Drum roll please….After much planning, meeting, prayers, and hard work, the new USA-SR Teams website (www.teamsofourlady.org) is active along with the new membership portal and database.  We hope you take a few minutes to explore.  More capabilities and content will be made available in the coming months, so please check back often.

Our immediate priority is to get everyone registered in the membership portal.  You should have received an automated email on May 24th from noreply@teamsofourlady.org stating: "Welcome to Teams of Our Lady, complete your registration by creating a secure password for your account". PLEASE click on the blue “Create Password” button. You will then be brought to the Set-Up Your Password screen. Your email will automatically be entered. Enter your password. If your old password is not accepted, you will have to enter a new one following the criteria underneath the password field. Then confirm your password. Once this registration step is completed successfully, you are officially registered on the Teams of Our Lady website once again! The page header should now say "Welcome back (your name)". For subsequent access to the member portal, please click the blue “Member Login” button in the upper right corner of the website page header.  Enter the email address that you use for Teams and the password you created upon registration.  Once you are logged into the membership portal, you will have access to additional “members only” items not available on the public website.  You will also be able to view and update your contact information, access members only content, set up automated electronic contributions, and much more.  More capabilities and content will be made available in the membership portal in the coming months as well.  If you need any technical assistance getting into the membership portal, please contact technology@teamsofourlady.org or techsupport1@teamsofourlady.org.  They will be happy to assist you. If you happen to have deleted or did not receive your May 24th registration email, just let them know and they will re-send the email invite individually. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to simply resend the email in bulk so please check your May 24th email first.

2025 Contribution Letter

Speaking of contributions, hopefully you received the annual contribution letter in your mailbox.  If you did not, you may find a link to the letter on the website.  We ask that you prayerfully discern making a contribution with the monetary GIFTS God has provided you.  If you made recurring automated contributions through our previous website, thank you!!!  Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

Because of the switch to the new platform, all Teams members who had been donating on a recurring basis to Teams of Our Lady via credit card will need to act. Your recurring donation to Teams of Our Lady has been halted on the previous system effective May 26, 2025. Please prayerfully consider continuing a recurring donation to Teams of Our Lady within our new system.  Please log into the membership portal.  Then, you can select an amount for your recurring donation to Teams of Our Lady and whether it is to occur monthly, quarterly, or annually. Please use this link to choose the dollar amount and frequency of your donation: Set Up Recurring Donation.  If you have any questions, please contact treasurer@teamsofourlady.org

In addition to your financial gifts, we ask for your PRAYERS as we gather in Three Rivers, CA later this month for the USA Super Region Summer Team meeting, USA-SR College Meeting and the Sector Couple Experience for new Sector Responsible Couples beginning their term of service.  We are excited about the opportunity to interact with so many couples who discerned “yes” to the call to SERVICE in the Movement.
